My Art Journey

I originally started my University Degree journey in 2014 at the Alberta University of the Arts. I currently work as a Resource Developer Assistant creating resources for language learning on Tsuut’ina Nation. My drive in my job and my art is to make sure that language learning for the community is accessible, inclusive, as well as creating safe spaces for the learning to occur for all learning levels.

In my artistic practice, I have brought the theme of language revitalization to the forefront in order to demonstrate the importance of Indigenous language preservation efforts. Since completing my degree and obtaining my Bachelor of Fine Arts, I am currently exploring more opportunities to continue my art creation journey and this awareness and advocacy. My goal is to reach more people and find more spaces to share the Tsuut’ina language and the stories of our Nation with others.

Make it mean something.

“Creating my art isn’t just about creating a name for myself. Everything I do gives me the ability to build foundations for my children so that one day they can find their passion and build a future for themselves. Supporting my business not only encourages my talent, it also supports my family.”

Raised with a strong Tsuut’ina culture and identity, Cieran incorporates images that are important to their cultural identity. Cieran’s practice also includes the creation of custom traditional items such as powwow regalia, beaded moccasins, and other design apparel.
